Vision/Mission Statement
of the Paraclete Province

We, Holy Spirit Missioanry Sister,
are an international religious community
rooted in Trinitarian Spirituality.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit,
we, in collaboration
with dedicated laity and clergy,
live and proclaim
the Gospel of God's love,
justice and peace.

In dialogue with peoples
of diverse cultures and traditions,
we minister and journey together
promoting human dignity
and lifegiving relationships.

Goal 1: Be Woman of Peace and Justice
  • Learn ways of non-violent communication and action;
practice them in our own lives and as a community.

  • Work to eliminate racism and prejudice and promote mutual understanding by community discussion, workshops, and other means.

  • Show by word and action that we recognize the dignity of all people.

  • Challenge our culture by the witness of our vowed life
    lived in an international community.

  • Participate individually and as a community in VIVAT International;
project IRENE, and other projects which
promote peace, justice and the integrity of creation.

Goal 2: Establish creative ways to reach out to the most needy and least
privileged, especially to women and people affected with HIV/AIDS.
We work collaboratively with laity and clergy
in these and all our endeavors.
  • We will be educated about HIV/AIDS by
... Having at least one workshop in Techny to which we invited Sisters,
        co-workers and others.
... Encouraging at least five interested Sisters to attend the National
Catholic HIV/AIDS Conference held at Loyola University in Chicago,
and provide three scholarships for co-workers to attend.
... Making available literature, videos and additional material
       to all communities and co-workers.

  • Each of us within our primary ministry
will find a way to assist women and those affected by HIV/AIDS.

  • Evaluate each year how we can reach out in our areas of presence/ministry to the most needy and least privileged.

Goal 3: We will grow in our life-giving relationships
and as discerning Communities.
  • As a Province, engage in a renewal of understanding discernment as a way of life by learning and accepting a common model of discernment.

  • Engage others in the decision making process at the appropriate level
    in decisions that impact them.

  • Support one another by creating an atmosphere of genuine respect
and affirmation, acknowledging the goodness, needs and
    unique gifts of each Sister.

  • Provide a welcoming presence for any Sister coming into any of our communities, integrating and supporting her in the transition. If the Sister is coming from another Province, we will learn about her home culture and provide her with an introduction to the local culture.

  • Attend workshops to learn better listening, speaking and communication skills and evaluate our progress in these skills

Goal 4: Engage in on-going formation that will help us grow
personally, spiritually and professionally
  • Deepen our Trinitarian Spirituality by faith sharing, discussion, prayer and other means.

  • Attend lectures, retreats and/or workshops on Trinitarian Spirituality, Church and Mission, our priorities, ministry skills and/or personal growth.

  • Publish/circulate, on a regular basis, opportunities and relevant materials for on-going formation.
...  Making available literature, videos and additional material
        to all communities and co-workers.

  • Each of us within our primary ministry will find a way to assist women and those affected by HIV/AIDS.

  • Evaluate each year how we can reach out in our areas of presence/ministry to the most needy and least privileged.

  • We express appreciation for the laity who work with us and, if possible, train them to assume leadership roles.
