A Missionary

is a person of joy,
freedom and hope…

She is other–person centered:
ready, willing and anxious to share
her talents, laughter, waking and sleeping hours with others…

She openly accepts others’ abilities,
life-styles, ups and downs, joys and tears…

She is prepared to enter another’s life,
culture and value system
without imposing her ideas on the other…

She is open to everyone: man, woman and child,
and offers them deep respect…

She realizes their giftedness, goodness and beauty
regardless of what they may look like.

She is a committed person and believes in herself:
her life, her work and her very womanhood…

She believes in people, their uniqueness and potential…
and she believes in her God
and in his very personal love for her and for all humankind…

She believes that God chose her
and called her to a life she doesn’t always understand…

She feels an urgency to share with others
what Jesus means to her…

She realizes that at times she is an instrument,
rusty and broken…
but one guided by the hand of God
in the light of the Spirit…

She knows that within her very being,
she is called to be sent
to serve the people of the Lord
in any way she can…

…For she is alive with God…
