- VOCATION PRAYER
- REFLECTION
- GOSPEL
Gracious Lord, thank you
for the blessings of this day.
Continue to be near me
and help me
to understand my vocation.
You have blessed me
with many gifts and talents
which I want to use
to serve you and your Church.
Help me to know how best to serve.
"Come follow me,"
Jesus has told us.
I want to follow,
but I am not sure of the right path.
Help me to make the right choices.
You have blessed me, Lord
and I am grateful.
Help me to see in myself
what you see and give me
the strength
to follow my vocation. Amen

Jesus was born
in an obscure village
in Galilee.
There, he worked
in a carpenter shop.
Around the age of thirty
he was led by the Spirit into the desert,
where in prayer and fasting
he recognized and embraced
God's mission in the world.
Jesus called and
commisioned his disciples
to tell of his Good News
that we are loved by God.
And that we are called
to share that love.
In the power
of the Holy Spirit,
Jesus continues
to call each one of us,
inviting us,
beckoning us
and commanding us
to carry his mission
to the ends of the world.
- Is God trying to get in touch with you,
inviting you to carry on Jesus mission?
- Where?
Gospel Reading according to
Mark 1:16-20
Passing along the beach
of Lake Galilee,
he saw Simon
and his brother Andrew net-fishing.
Fishing was his regular work.
Jesus said to them,
"Come with me.
I'll make a new kind of fishermen out of you.
I'll show you how to catch
men and women instead of perch and bass."
They did not ask questions.
They dropped their nets and followed.
A dozens yards or so down the beach,
he saw the brothers James and John,
Zebedee's sons.
They were in the boats mending their fishnets.
Right off, he made the same offer.
Immediately, they left their father Zebedee,
the boat, and the hired hands, and followed.
- Is Jesus trying to make
a kind of fisherman out of you?
- Are you willing to drop your net and follow?
